SHOW SUMMARY:
We start off the show discussing the “new rules” that are seemingly at play regarding appropriate office dress code. What was previously judged as “too casual” and borderline “sloppy” is now seen as “cool” and “hip”. Looking like you don’t care too much about your professional attire now somehow communicates that you are actually super smart and super competent in your career and that nothing is too difficult for you. So is this really all just “new rules” on a shell game of image? Is this just a new way to rearrange the smoke and mirrors? Is there anything left to the old-school adage of “dress for success”…or has that been completely inverted as well? And let’s not forget the twist that ‘sexism’ puts on this whole rubber band ball of issues!

In line with the “changing of the times” musings at hand, we flow next into discussing how Uber is disrupting the Taxi business, to the extent that New York City recently filed a lawsuit against Uber. This is a GREAT topic for our show and really exemplifies the concept of “MAKIN’ IT”. Uber is an example, in real time, of a new business model that is MAKIN’ IT, and making changes in the marketplace. The traditional taxi business model is going to have to make changes FAST and adapt, or go the way of the dinosaurs!

Next, Tommy + Todd discuss Getting people to say ‘YES’ – 5 Powerful Insights for your Career, Business Relationships + Life. The 5 insights are as follows:
1. EVERYONE SELLS SOMETHING
2. THE ISSUE OF REJECTION
3. GAINING CONTROL
4. DEALING WITH NO
5. FOLLOW UP
Understanding how to use these insights the right way can be LIFE CHANGING, both personally and professionally!

Lastly, we discuss the pros / cons of leasing vs. buying a vehicle. Most people just go with one option or the other without fully knowing why they are choosing it. We break down the ins and outs of this topic on our show today, and when each is advantageous.
